Notes from Pastor Dean,

I hope that this note finds everyone well. I wanted to take the opportunity to update everyone on our plans for Holy Week at KUMC.

We will be streaming the entire service from Kalama on Palm Sunday. There will be opportunities to participate in all portions of the service. For prayers of the people, I ask that everyone with joys or concerns would send your requests in via the website over the next couple of days. We will use the requests that we receive in Sunday’s service.

We will also be including a love feast as part of our liturgy this Sunday. It’s going to be somewhat like communion but will include elements that each of us collect from our current surroundings. We will be sharing a virtual meal together realizing that the real intimacy of the moment comes from sharing the gifts that we each have received from God with one another.

We had hoped to be able to share communion in a more traditional sense this weekend, but that’s going to have to wait until the sanitary communion supplies that we ordered arrive. As soon as they do, we will let you all know so that you can make arrangements to pick up or have delivered what you will need to participate.

We are still planning on holding a virtual Maundy Thursday service at 7:00 PM and then Easter Services at 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The Maundy Thursday service will focus on the Passion of the Christ with Easter Sermons focusing on traditional joyous elements of resurrection.

I hope that all of you will share this news with your friends and we can have joyous but separated gatherings in the days to follow.
